Music for film

This movie is a bitter sweet story about an (implied) ex couple reminiscing about their time together and their last moments before going separate ways.

When I made the music for this film, I leant heavily on inspiration f
rom Joe Hisaishi and especially their work on spirited away, which the director Viggo had recommended.

To imitate the music quickly became difficult, as I had the tendency to focus on the theory behind it and via that making melodies that sounded way to similar to the original.
After several failed sketches I tried to focus more on the feeling of the music. With that in mind and just the right amount of theory I tried again. I tried to put emphasis on the feelings of the characters instead of what they did.
(which I guess kind of becomes an emotional mickey mouse effect.) And after some iterations it became what is played in the movie.

Sadly the movie isn't out for the internet to see, but if it gets out here I'll be sure to link it.
Until then here's a snippet of the music.

In this video I collaborated with the skilled animator by the name of Elvira Axén.

I made the music and sound effects for this animation.
As you may notice the music changes tempo and mood violently.
This was to accentuate the video and story drama.

As for this project I based a song of a picture (the one underneath the video) and tried to, using only audio as my tool describe it.
Later this song got interpreted by artists, where they didn't get to see the original art but only got my description, and had to from that draw what they thought I had seen.
All in all a really fun project with very talented artists.

Trailer Music Remake Projects

In these videos I took an already existing game trailer and replaced the music and sounds on them.
This TMRP was made to the trailer to Rose of Starcross by Peyton Burnham.

To keep the song and sound effects as original as possible I chose not to listen to the original trailer before or whilst making my music and sound to it.
This keeps my version distinct from the original, but due to the trailers video material faithful to the game.
For this TMRP I chose the trailer for Savior made by Starsoft Entertainment.

I yet again did not listen to the music nor sound as I learnt when I did the TMRP of Rose of Starcross.
When making this one I wanted to build anticipation and set the viewer in the world before speeding of, much like the pacing of the trailer.
